Mike LeDonne can really play the keyboards. Here he is joined by Eric Alexander, Peter Bernstein and Joe Farnsworth as they burn through on the Hammond B-3 recorded at Van Gelder's. This is a working unit that has played together for a few years and it sounds like it. Mike, because of his playing and writing skill, has played and recorded with many of the greats including Milt Jackson and Joshua Redman to name a few. This is his debut as a leader in a full organ date. This romp covers an interesting repertoire with tunes from Donald Byrd to Burt Bacharach and some fresh originals.
