Cheesesteaks, the Liberty Bell and the Hammond B-3 sound: Three great things for which Philadelphia is known. Joey DeFrancesco, today the undisputed King of the B-3, pays tribute to the City of Brotherly Love and one of the greatest of the B-3 giants in this seamless tribute to Philadelphia's own, Don Patterson. The epitome of versatility, Joey has explored jazz fusion with Miles, hard-driving swing with Houston Person and pushed the envelope with Pat Martino. Joey's trio burns through seven tracks associated with Patterson and one original written as homage. The group has certainly done their collective homework in preparing this heartfelt project. As a result, they have both honored and extended the Don Patterson legacy in this display of B-3 brotherhood.
